The Bread of Life Ministry serves the needs of hungry families in the Scottsville area. On the third Saturday of each month, the ministry provides free groceries to those in need. The ministry receives support from both churches and individuals in Scottsville, including Scottsville Presbyterian.
On Sunday, March 11, we were privileged to deliver some needed financial help to the ministry. Leonor Gett (left in photo) received two checks from our church.
One check for $95 represented donations made at the Lenten evening prayer supper that our church hosted on March 6.
The other check for $1,000 came from the Presbytery of the James’ Hunger Purpose Group. This group collects funds through the Five Cents a Meal campaign and distributes it to ministries serving the hungry in our Presbytery. The group has supported Scottsville’s Bread of Life Ministry for two years in a row.
